Current Drought Stage: Stage 4 – CRITICAL Water Shortage Conditions

Target: Achieve a 40% reduction in total water use.

The Canyon Lake Estates Water System (CLEWS) President and designated officials are actively monitoring conditions and exploring alternative water sources to manage supply during this critical period.


Water Use Restrictions for All Stages

Stage 4 – CRITICAL Water Shortage Conditions (Includes all Stage 2 & 3 restrictions, with additional limitations below)

  1. Landscape Irrigation:
    • Permitted only between 8:00 PM and 10:00 AM to minimize evaporation.
    • Must use hand-held hoses, hand-held buckets, or drip irrigation only.
    • Hose-end sprinklers and automatic sprinkler systems are prohibited.
  2. Vehicle Washing:
    • Prohibited except at commercial car washes and service stations.
    • Allowed only between 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
    • Exemptions apply for health and safety needs.
  3. Pools & Water Features:
    • Filling, refilling, or adding water to swimming pools, wading pools, and Jacuzzis is prohibited.
    • Ornamental fountains or ponds must be shut off, except those supporting aquatic life or using a recirculation system.
  4. New Water Service Connections:
    • No new or expanded water service applications will be approved during this stage.
